Orient Watches Where To Buy ((FREE))

Until it was absorbed into Epson, the Orient Watch Company had primarily marketed mechanical watches (self-winding & hand-winding),[4][5] but also produced quartz, light-powered (solar) and radio-controlled models.[6][7][8][9] Outside of the main business, the company produced some moving parts and electronic components that were then assembled into Seiko Epson's electronic devices.[10]

orient watches where to buy

The origin of Orient Watch Company dates back to 1901 when Shogoro Yoshida opened a wholesale shop called "Yoshida Watch Shop" in Ueno, Taito, Tokyo, Japan. Yoshida Watch Shop was successful, selling imported pocketwatches. In 1912, Yoshida expanded his business and began producing gold wristwatch cases. In 1920, Toyo Tokei Manufacturing was established, originally producing table clocks and gauges. It was not until 1934 that Toyo Tokei Manufacturing started the production of wristwatches. In 1936, the Hino factory was built in Hino, Tokyo, Japan. For several years, Toyo Tokei Manufacturing boomed at the Hino factory. However, the company shut down in 1949 in the Japanese economic devastation following World War II.[14]

After Toyo Tokei Manufacturing was shut down, Yoshida's wristwatch manufacturing company was reborn in 1950, founded under the name Tama Keiki Company. Tama Keiki Co. continued manufacturing watches at the Hino factory. In 1951, Tama Keiki Co. changed its name to Orient Watch Company, Limited (オリエント時計株式会社, Oriento Tokei Kabushikigaisha), and in the same year the first Orient Star went on sale. Orient Watch was able to expand their visibility overseas after a memorandum trade agreement with China in 1955. The Royal Orient went on sale in 1960. Other important watches in the company's history include the "Dynamic" in 1956, "Grand Prix 100" in 1964, "Fineness" (the world's thinnest automatic wristwatch with day and date calendar function for its time) in 1967, and the "Tenbeat" in 1970.[15]

In 2003, the Orient Technical Center (OTC) was established and the assembly of luxury watches began in Ugo, Ogachi, Akita, Japan.[11] In 2004, the high-precision caliber 88700 movement went on sale via the Royal Orient watch line. In 2005, Orient Star Retro-Future collection was launched. In 2010, Orient Watch Co. celebrated its 60th anniversary with a limited edition model.[15] The Royal Orient line was discontinued around 2016, likely to prevent cannibalism between it and fellow Seiko group brands Grand Seiko, and Credor. To celebrate 70 years of the Orient Star line, the Orient Star skeleton watch was introduced with a silicon escapement made using Epson's MEMS technology, which has been used in high end Seiko watches since 2009.[16][17]

In 2001 Seiko Epson (one of three core companies of the Seiko Group) became the majority shareholder (52%) of the company. Orient Watch became a wholly owned subsidiary of Epson in 2009.[14] After transferring its business to Epson, the company now exists as a dormant company. Epson Sales Japan Corporation markets the Orient watches, while Akita Epson Corporation manufactures them.

Orient is a trusted brand that offers some of the best watches on the market. They are affordable and often cited as the best sub-$500 watch brand. The biggest selling point with Orient watches is undoubtedly their automatic movement.

Finally, what makes Orient watches so appealing is their dive watch offerings. They have tremendous watches in other fields, which we will cover below. But they are exceptionally good at producing dive watches and have stayed true to that script over the years.

With Seiko discontinuing the SKX007, Orient stepped in to take the mantle of best sub-$200 dive watch. Therefore, any list of best Orient watches has to start with the Orient Ray II, which is one of the best watches of all time.

The Ray II is an extremely stylish dive watch, taking its designs cues from other dive watches on the market. It features round indices on the dial and offers a day-date complication. The 41mm case size is extremely versatile and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

Watch brands rarely have two remarkable watches in the same category. Therefore, it is refreshing that Orient brings two excellent dive watches to the market. We already featured the Orient Ray II, but its cousin the Orient Mako is every bit as amazing.

Orient introduced an answer to those looking for a versatile dress watch that could also serve weekend duties. The Orient Bambino is arguably one of their most popular offerings, and one of the most popular dress watches available from any brand.

Dive computers have replaced dive watches. Some divers, however, still prefer to use mechanical tools for their flexibility and to stay true to the hobby (think of hunters who still choose to use bows).

Building on this foundation, Orient continues to offer an attractive collection of amazing dive watches. In 2019, Orient released the Kamasu, set to sit alongside their legendary line of affordable divers.

Chronograph watches are useful and beautiful. However, they tend to be extremely ubiquitous. The Orient Sun and Moon is a tasteful dress watch with a unique flair that separates it from other watches on the market.

The Orient Watch has been a recognized and respected watchmaking brand in the industry. The company is best known for its exceptional mechanical watches. It has been producing well-crafted automatic watches with its own in-house movements. Today, many watch companies are still trying to reach the success and the benchmark that Orient Watch has set for their watches.

Being one of the top three watch brands in Japan along with Seiko and Citizen, Orient Watch is known all over the globe today. The brand is now offering a wide range of watches with manufacturing facilities in different countries including Hong Kong, Singapore, Brazil, and of course Japan. On top of its renowned mechanical watches, Orient Watch has been delivering watches in quartz and solar power as well at very affordable prices.

If you are looking for a high-quality and affordable watch, an Orient Watch will be a perfect choice for you. Before getting an Orient watch on hand, you may need to know a few things more about Orient watches:

The Orient Watch Company was officially established in 1951, yet the origin of Orient Watch Company can be dated back to 1901 when its founder Shogoro Yoshida started his first watch store Yoshida Watch Shop in Tokyo, Japan. At the beginning of its business, the Yoshida Watch Shop was selling imported pocketwatches and gained its first success.

In 1920, Toyo Tokei Manufacturing was established by Yoshida and started to produce table clocks and gauges. Seeing the growing popularity of its products, Toyo Tokei Manufacturing expanded its business and started the production of wristwatches in 1934. In the following years, its business boomed and its watches became popular all over Japan. However, due to the poor economy after World War II in Japan, the company was closed in 1949.

Since then Orient Watch has grown and expanded their business overseas at a horrifying speed. Its watches are particularly popular in many Asian countries, for example, Orient Watch Singapore ADs. The Orient watches gained such high recognition due to its rich history and watchmaking expertise that had been acquired since 1901.

The Orient Watch Japan company takes quality and craftsmanship very seriously when producing their watches. It can ensure that you will be able to have years of reliable service from the Orient watch you are going to buy. It would be an affordable yet amazing choice to be one of the watches for you to pass down to your family or loved ones. The brand is offering notable watches for both men and women. An Orient ladies watch must be a perfect anniversary gift for your loved one.

Orient has been continuously upgrading the designs and functionalities for their own movements. Many current Orient watch models are upgraded from the Cal. 46 series into the advanced Cal. F6 series, including the renowned Orient Ocean watch Mako II and Ray II. These watches are equipped with more functions like hacking and hand winding.

In general, the Orient watch family consists of an entry level lineup Orient and a higher level lineup Orient Star. There was a high-end lineup Royal Orient to cater the needs of high luxury watches but it was discontinued in 2016.

Orient collections focus on classic, standard pieces that are more affordable. On the other hand the Orient Star consists of a range of more complex watches at higher prices. The Orient Star watches are mainly equipped with more advanced complications and features.

No watch collection can be complete without the inclusion of dive watches. And what better to add to your growing collection than the very affordable and durable Japanese watchmaker Orient? Orient is widely known for being one of the most affordable watch brands in the market, offering a wide variety of watches, all at extremely affordable prices.

Unlike the other Orient dive watches, the SK Diver Retro, as its name suggests, shows off a sleeker, more retro-inspired design. The watch utilises a 41.7mm stainless steel case and a three-link bracelet made of the same material. It stands out with its brushed octagonal fixed bezel, a distinctive design that is incredibly reminiscent of the iconic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. This is coupled with an internal rotating bezel, which bears indicators in deep red and white for the elapsed time scale.

Without a doubt, Orient dive watches are a perfect addition to your ever-expanding watch collections. You will not regret investing in these entry-level dive timepieces, especially since they deliver the utmost quality and functionality at extremely budget-friendly prices.
